Dial *#06# on your phone. If you see an EID number, your device supports eSIM. On iPhone you can also open Settings → Cellular and look for Add eSIM; on Android, check Settings → Network & internet → SIMs. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked — if you bought it on a contract, ask your carrier to unlock it before you travel.
Region and carrier variants differ — notably mainland-China iPhones (dual physical SIM, no eSIM) and a few early Galaxy and Pixel carrier models. When in doubt, the *#06# check is the definitive answer for your exact handset.

eSIM compatibility FAQ
01How do I know if my phone supports eSIM?
Dial *#06# on your phone: if an EID number appears, your device supports eSIM. On iPhone, check Settings → Cellular for an 'Add eSIM' option; on Android, look under Settings → Network & internet → SIMs. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked.
02Which iPhones support eSIM?
iPhone XS, XS Max and XR and every model since — including iPhone SE (2020 and 2022), the iPhone 11 through 16 lines. US iPhone 14 and later are eSIM-only. iPhones bought in mainland China use dual physical SIMs and do not support eSIM.
03Do Samsung and Google phones support eSIM?
Yes. Google Pixel 3 and newer and Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer (plus the Note 20, Z Flip and Z Fold lines) support eSIM. A few early carrier and regional variants shipped without it, so confirm with the *#06# check.
04My phone isn't on the list — can I still use a TealSim eSIM?
The list covers the most common eSIM devices, not every model ever made. If *#06# shows an EID and your phone is carrier-unlocked, a TealSim eSIM will work even if the exact model isn't listed. If there's no EID, you'll need a device with a physical SIM instead.
05Does my phone need to be unlocked?
Yes. Even an eSIM-capable phone must be carrier-unlocked to use a travel eSIM. If you bought it on a carrier contract, ask your carrier to unlock it before you travel.
